Elevate, Zero 2 Infinity’ Stratospheric Transportation Service presented at the HAPS4ESA 2019
Barcelona, February 28th 2019.- Zero 2 Infinity attended the HAPS4ESA Conference 2019 that took place between 12-14 of February in Leiden, Netherlands. The conference was organized by the European Space Agency, as the second gathering of experts and developers of High Altitude Platforms.

With over 250 participants the HAPS4ESA 2019 represents the largest conference in Europe that brings together HAPS platform manufacturers, payload and applications developers, institutional stakeholders, space agencies and operators. As Zero 2 Infinity is an active player in the aerospace industry, the company had the opportunity to formally present Elevate, its stratospheric transportation service.
The presentation took place on the first day of the conference where Izan Peris, Elevate’s Head of Product highlighted why this service is the perfect fit to cover the increasing demand for hardware tests in stratospheric conditions. Elevate’s offer targets directly the High Altitude Platforms ecosystem, as it’s the solution for clients that need to test payloads, validate subsystems and perform demonstration missions given the lack of operational HAPS concepts.
Particular focus was given to the conference to the validation of the business case for the different applications that these new platforms provide. Together with the major aerospace players, smaller research institutions and SMEs presented their advances in payload technologies for both Earth Observation and Telecommunications, as well as platform developments. As a highlight to the event, data from the first stratospheric demos from Airbus was presented, and new demo missions for 2019 were announced.
Based in Spain, Zero 2 Infinity currently operates in multiple locations including sea launch capabilities. This translates into a fully functional and reliable service that covers from launch to recovery operations. The service currently is capable of carrying payloads with a mass up to 100kg at altitudes between 18-22km, by leveraging high altitude balloons and COTS technologies.
