Balloon Launch for Airbus
The flight is part of Zero 2 Infinity's Elevate line of business
Zero 2 Infinity keeps working on high altitude flights within the framework of Elevate, their elevation services to Near Space. On Sunday November 12th, Zero 2 Infinity launched a stratospheric balloon carrying a weight of 135 kg including scientific and technical instruments for Airbus.
Flight preparations started at 6AM and the launch time was 8:45AM. The balloon was filled with helium and was launched from the Air Traffic Laboratory for Advanced Systems (ATLAS), in Jaén, South of Spain. The payload and the balloon were recovered successfully by the Zero 2 Infinity team after the flight. The payload was in perfect conditions.
Zero 2 Infinity, with more Elevate flights scheduled in the near future, is the only private company in Europe specialized in the elevation to the Edge of Space of components that require testing and certifying in Space conditions. It is also working on sending small satellites into orbit through its project Bloostar and has mid-term plans to send people to Near Space for science and leisure with its pod Bloon.
